Taking advantage of new IPv6 techniques to re-imagine R & E Networks

Is it time to start decommissioning IPv4? IPv6 has been developed for the last 20 years to address the IPv4 address exhaustion issue, however it has not been deployed at large scale until now across the whole Internet. Today, in both commercial and Research and Education networks, IPv6 traffic in volume is still in the percent range. However, commercial ISPs at the forefront of the technology are now planning to keep offering an IPv4 service while operating an IPv6-only network. This presentation will focus on why and how to do so.
