100G intercontinental: The Next Network Frontier

Since the start of this century, lambda networking for Research and Education has really taken off. The 10 Gbit/s lambda has become the common transmission pipe. Especially in Research and Science, large data volumes need to be transported efficiently, and the 10 Gbit/s speed across oceans is becoming a bottleneck in more than one way now. This talk will dive into higher speeds between continents, and the challenges for NRENs all over the world.
