PlatonTV is Polish national scientific TV platform, deployed within the PIONIER network and operated by PSNC, and enables the production and deliverery of HD-quality, live, and on-demand content to the Internet users. This platform makes it possible to create, store, manage and distribute multimedia content, which is currently produced in 21 professional studios, equipped with broadcast-quality HD infrastructure, deployed in all MANs (Metropolitan Area Networks), and distributed all over Poland. The PlatonTV production infrastructure also includes a professional OB-VAN (Outside-Broadcasting Van), which allow live and on-demand production in remote locations, using up to six HD cameras. The platform was deployed by the PIONIER consortium members in Poland within the PLATON project, co-funded by the European Development Fund grant.
