Professor at UPMC-Sorbonne Universités (Paris6), cofounder and past President of EUNIS and of CSIESR (French Universities Information Services Association). His research, in Materials Sciences as a theoretician, led him to be a heavy user of the National Supercomputers and of the French network. Has been working for 2 1/2 years at IBM Research, Yorktown Heights, USA. He has had different activities in IT use in universities both at international and national levels (International Union of Crystallography, OECD, EUNIS, LERU…, Ministry of Higher Education in France…). Yves Epelboin is director of IT for Teaching and Learning at UPMC and is responsible both in its technical aspects (mobility, podcast, videoconferencing, LMS…) as well as in its pedagogical outcomes, MOOCs for instance.
