NORDUnet / Internet2 (Cayman Islands)
Erik-Jan Bos has worked in the high-end not-for-profit ICT world for more than 25 years now, after graduating from Delft University of Technology as an Electrical Engineer back in 1987. The first 23 years of his career he spent at SURFnet, the Dutch National Research and Education Network. In early 2011 he left SURFnet as their CTO. He now works for NORDUnet, Internet2 as well as inside the primary health care sector in The Netherlands, as his three biggest challenges.
At NORDUnet, Erik-Jan is a staff member of the International Research Initiatives department. Among other things, he has been busy on ORIENTplus, GLIF Tech, GEANT Open and other GN3 and GN3plus related topics.
At Internet2, Erik-Jan has the role of Sr. Strategy Advisor for Global Programs, with a liaison focus especially on Europe and Africa. Besides that, he is working on intercontinental research networking at speeds of 100 Gbit/s and beyond.
