A decade of collaborative R&E networking around the globe Save to my Google calendar

In the last decade the global reach of European R&E networking has increased significantly. The first regional projects (EumedConnect and ALICE) started between 2002 and 2003 respectively. This panel session will look at a decade of experience in other world regions with the development of national and regional R&E organisations and networks. Confirmed panellists are Florencio Utreras from RedCLARA (Latin America), Francis Tusubira (Tusu) from the UbuntuNet Alliance (Southern and Eastern Africa), Francis Lee representing TEIN*CC (Asia Pacific), Askar Kutanov from CAREN in Central Asia and Ken Sylvester from CKLN and C@ribnet in the Caribbean. The panel will be introduced by Valentino Cavalli (TERENA) and will be chaired by Cathrin Stöver (DANTE).

The panel will explore the major steps and hurdles that had to be taken towards the successful implementation of the regional and national initiatives, as well as looking ahead in the future, exploring the expectations set in collaboration with Europe and on a global scale
