Scalable Privacy and the Identity Ecosystem

The US Government has initiated the NSTIC program to craft an identity ecosystem. This initiative has both governance and pilot areas. In the governance area, mechanisms have been set up to adopt principles, guidelines and standards, with work now. One of the major pilots is the Internet2 Scalable Privacy activities, intended to help create a privacy infrastructure that includes citizen-centric schema, a user-effective privacy manager that spans multiple technologies and use of anonymous credentials. This session will discuss both the national Identity Ecosystem Governance and the Scalable Privacy work, with a focus on some of the tools and practices that might emerge to support active and scalable user management of privacy.
